"Oe daura khojna jane, haina?" Shiva Ratri vibes

What is meant to celebrate Shiva Ratri in the village? The kids are made to collect the woods in the Jungle. Early in the morning,the sweet smell of roasting maizes, soybeans and different cereals, coming from the kitchen, made anyone curious to know if there is any special day, today. "K bhancha, aja Shiva Ratri haina ra?" 
 "Ye-Ye birseko maile ta" 

"Oe, aaja prasad kasle banauchha? Prasad of Shiva is very special today. It is even assumed to have Marijuana is legal for this special occasions. Most  of the Youngsters are very concern about this day besides the  others celebration. Alcohol, local Rice Beer, Milk with hashish and so on comes along with Shiva Prasad.  

During the evening, members from 5 years old kid to old grandma/pa  gathered with some woods to make a big fire. "Kasko kasko ghar bata daura aaipugyo?. Kanchha, tyo maila ko ghar bata daura liyera aaijo ja, nadiye aagaan bata bhayeni uthayera lera" "Daura kasko ghar ma chorna jane?" Oe, "Jaam Jaam"
You can see the level of excitement in everyone's faces. 

They are distributed the "Makkai Bhatmas". It is as a special prasad offered to lord Shiva.  Men started dancing in the rhythm of Madal (local music instrument) while women were busy to sing the Nepali Folk songs. Young girls started to show their dancing skills to make the environment more entertaining till midnight.

Beyond that Gate!

Maybe I went near that gate for more than 20 times and always wished to go beyond it. Thousands of people entered and disappeared. I always used to sneak out and always have the imagination of different scenes beyond that Gate. I grew up in a small village called Changu Narayan in a middle-class family. People in my village are happy with their small dreams and almost identical daily chores all the time. Being a female, I felt suffocated while growing up in society because of so many prejudices and gender discrimination. I felt nothing is new and was desperately waiting to escape and explore in all my youth. A sense of claustrophobic essence hunts my mind. Most of my friends ended up getting married and got busy raising kids at in early age and they never got any chance to have freedom in life to explore any new places or to learn any new things other than what a small village offers. The feelings of loneliness were crawling back to me as I was more inquisitive to explore a new place...
